The new docmentary by Gary Hustwit, maker of the Helvetica film, will be released on the 29th of September, but you can already pre-order it from the Objectified web shop. You can order either regular DVD, Blu-ray or two different limited editions. The limited editions is packed in non-static zip-bags and you can choose between a (reusable) 16gb USB drive or a DVD-disc. Both limited editions are filled with five letterpress mini-posters, an objectified badge designed by Build, a color C-print of a still from the film signed by Gary Hustwit and an objectified tote-bag.
The documentary focuses on industrial design, rather than graphic design like the Helvetica film, how consumer products are made and designed and the reltionship between the products and the users. This film is the second part of a design trilogy by Hustwit. The subject of the third film is yet to be published, so we can only guess. perhaps architecture? Either way, it will probably be a good view, just as we hope “objectified” will, and “Helvetica” were.
