My new Freitag F-77 Ben Computer Bag just arrived in the mail today. The bag is made out of recycled, used truk tarpaulins and used car seat belts. The unique bag was shipped from Hamburg, but their factory is located on Zurich. Freitag started in 1993 when two brothers were cycling and living next to a truck-busy freeway and decided that truck tarps would make for a good messenger bag. Right they were, and Freitag now has a large catalog of recycled items including the original messenger bag, computer bags, wallets and footballs (!). Crafted from material that’s made for heavy duty trucking through all sorts of weather makes these bags very tough and they should last you lifteme of serious use, which in this gastly London weather seems just perfect. Head over to freitag.ch and see what designs are available, or can virtually cut out your own from a tarpaulin sheet.

(Sorry about the crummy picture above. The only camera i had was an iphone in bad lighting conditions)
