Zeroperzero, Stations

Posted by Aleksander Vindenes Dahl on May 6th, 2010

Zeroperzero is a design duo from Seoul. Kim Ji-Hwan and Jin Sol are graphic designers and focus a lot on information design. Their probably most known work is the Railway System Maps. The idea behind the redesigned maps was to make them reflect the character of the city better. For tuorists and people who doesn’t know these cities, the railway map is a vital tool for getting around. Often though, the standard line maps aren’t always in line with the character of the city. With Railway Systmen Maps, Oneperzero captures the character of six cities, New York, Osaka, Seoul, Barcelona, Hokkaido and Tokyo. The project has won design awards including the DAF design award and IF communication design award. This project is now the centre piece of Kemistry Gallery’s new exhibiton, the first in the UK for the South Korean duo.

Definitely go check it out if you got the time (doesn’t take very long) and if you are planning on traveling to any of these cities, you can pick up a small pocket map for £15.
