Twilight: The indie soundtrack

The vampire movie series Twilight has released the tracklisting for their ‘New Moon’ Soundtrack and its filled with indie goodness. Grizzly Bear, Lykke Li, Thom Yorke and a collaboration between Bön Iver and St. Vincent is just some of the artist featured.

Vampire Weekend have finally given us a release date for their second album. After a busy year and a half headlining festivals around the world with their selftitled debut album, its time to hear something new from these guys. The new album titled, ‘Contra’ will be released on January 12, 2010.

New Release From Fever Ray

Fever Rays next single from the album “Seven” is due for release October 5th. It will include remixes by Crookers, Martyn, CSS, Marcel Dettmann, Seth Troxler and Nick Chacona. A limited edition 7″ is also out. It contains two covers. “Stranger than Kindness” by Nick Cave and Anita Lane and “Here Before” by Vashti Bunyan.

Your Twenties

Former Metronomy member Gabriel Stebbings left the band earlier this year to focus on his own band, Your Twenties. And it seems that he’s off to another direction. Your Twenties has a different sound than his previous electro-pop band. This is more straight up british pop rock.

Justin Vernon and his Bön Iver released one of the most memorable records in 2008. “For Emma, Forever Ago” had us all mesmerized with his emotional harmonies and amazing, yet puzzling lyrics. Now Vernon is teaming up with Collections of Colonies of Bees for his sideproject Volcano Choir.

The Elliot school in London has given us Hot Chip, Four Tet and… ehm… Pierce Brosnan. But another band from Elliot, The xx has got the thumbs up from the likes of Pitchfork, NME ++ Their debut album, creatively called “xx” came out this august and they are currently touring with Florence + the machine.
